1.MARUTI SUZUKI SWIFT
Maruti launched Swift in 2005 with a G13 1.3L engine and in 2011 it was replaced by K Series 1.2L & DDIS 1.3L engines. The DDIS 1.3L which was a diesel variant was discounted in 2019 as Maruti decided to discontinue its diesel variant manufacturing recently Maruti Suzuki updated swift with cruise control and also coming up with a CNG variant.
Swift is considered and proved to be the king of compact hatchback segment in India after its launch. Maruti swift has won the ICOTY award 3 times most by any Indian car.
Maruti has sold approximately 203,500 units in 2024 and it has sold above 17000 units in January 2024.
2.MARUTI SUZUKI WagonrR
Maruti launched WagonR in 1999 which impressed and grew to immense popularity as an affordable family car and from last 25 years WagnoR is one of the highest selling and top choice family car. WagonR also considered as one of the top taxi cars in India at the time when it was ruled by likes of Premier Padmini & HM Ambassador.
WagonR is also considered to be a giant along with swift in compact hatchback segment. WagonR first launched with an 1L engine of 1061 cc and 66 hp then Maruti launched a CNG version of WagonR back in 2006 and currently its coming with a 1L and 1.2L Petrol engine and 1L CNG engine option.
Maruti has sold 201,302 units in 2023 and sold over 17,756 units in January 2024.
3.MARUTI SUZUKI BALENO
Maruti Suzuki is dominating the hatchback segment in India for over 30 years and is number one choice for family car which is largely considered by middle class people in India. So, in 2015 Maruti Suzuki launched Baleno and took a step towards premium hatchback segment car in India with a 1.2L petrol and 1.3 DDIS diesel engine.
Maruti Suzuki Baleno is the leader of premium hatchback segment where Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz are its competitor. Baleno has the best cabin space & fuel efficiency which has impressed the car buyers throughout after its launch.2023 Baleno has offered HUD and 360-degree camera which is first in its segment.
Maruti has sold 193,988 units of baleno in 2023 and has won many accolades after its launch in 2015.
4.MARUTI SUZUKI BREEZA.
The Vitara Brezza was first showcased in India at the 13th Auto Expo in February 2016. The Vitara Brezza is Suzuki’s first model in the sub-4 meter subcompact SUV segment in India. Initially, the Vitara Brezza was only powered by a 1.3-litre D13A DDIS turbo charged diesel engine and later the sole turbo-diesel engine was replaced by a Bharat Stage 6 stage-compliant 1.5-litre K15B four-cylinder petrol engine in February 2020.
The facelifted Vitara Brezza is also sold by Toyota as the Toyota Urban Cruiser, which was launced in India on 22 August 2020. The second-generation Brezza was unveiled in India on 30 June 2022 without the “Vitara” name. Hyundai Venue and Tata Nexon are the competitors of Maruti breeza in the sub 4 meter subcompact SUV segment.
Maruti sold near about 170,588 units on breeza in 2023 and is the one of the best choice of model amongst budget friendly SUV car buyers.
5. TATA NEXON
The TATA Nexon displayed as a prototype exhibited at the Auto Expo 2014. Final model was launched in February 2016. Two engines developed by Tata motors and Austrian engineering company AV, the petrol engine comprised of 1.2L Revotron three cylinders turbo 12-valve that produces 109 HP and 170Nm tourque and second was a diesel engine comprised of1.5 L Revotorq four-cylinder common rail 16-valve that delivers 81 kW and 260Nm
TATA Motors first updated the TATA Nexon with an facelifted with feature addition of Bharat Stage-6-compliant and showcased the model at auto expo 2020 and Tata motors then launched second facelifted Nexon in September 2023 with a standard 6 airbags, 10.25-inch full-digital instrument cluster, 360-degree camera, telematics, wireless charger, ventilated front seats, air purifier, electronic gear shifter, and others.
Tata Motors nearly sold 15,284 units of Nexon in 2023 and giving a tough competition to its rival Maruti Suzuki Breeza and Hyundai venue.
